Onyx and Tephra · Obsidian Metrics · Effective date: September 6, 2026
These terms are in effect as of the date above. We may update them from time to time; the effective date reflects the current version.
This policy is part of, and incorporated into, the Terms of Service.
1. Subscriptions and billing
Paid tiers are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis at the price shown at checkout.
Prices differ by product and channel (for example, a plan purchased through Skool may differ from a
direct signup); the exact price, renewal frequency, and cancellation method are always shown before
you pay, and you affirmatively consent to the recurring charge at checkout.
Payments are processed by Stripe (direct signups) or through the channel you purchased from
(for example, Skool). We never see or store your full card number.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current price until you cancel.
1a. Tephra one-time seat ($399)
Tephra (tephra.obsidian-metrics.com) also sells a one-time seat for $399. It is a single
payment processed by Stripe, not a subscription: it does not auto-renew, and there is nothing to
cancel.
A seat gives perpetual access to Tephra for as long as Tephra is offered, and seat usage is
unmetered.
A seat is a first purchase, so the 7-day money-back window in section 4 applies to it. If a seat
payment is refunded or charged back, the seat and the access it grants end.
2. Prepaid wallet / usage credit
Some features are metered against an included monthly allowance. If you top up a prepaid wallet
to cover usage beyond your allowance, those funds pay for compute (AI model and GPU time) as you use it.
Wallet top-ups are consumed as you spend them and are non-refundable once compute has been
used, because that cost is real and already incurred. An unused, never-spent top-up can be refunded
within 7 days of purchase on request. We always disclose usage rates before you can incur a charge.
3. How to cancel (easy, self-serve)
Cancel at any time with no penalty: in the Tephra app, open the account menu and choose Cancel
subscription (it asks you to confirm, then shows the date your access ends); through Skool if you
subscribed there; or by emailing support@obsidian-metrics.com.
Cancellation stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the current paid period,
after which it ends. Cancelling does not by itself trigger a refund of the current period (see section
4). We make cancelling at least as easy as signing up.
4. Refund position
7-day money-back window on your first purchase. Request a full refund of your
initial subscription payment, or of a Tephra one-time seat, within 7 days of that first charge and we
will refund it, no questions asked.
After the 7-day window, and on renewal payments, subscription charges are non-refundable. Cancel
at any time to stop future charges and keep access through the end of the paid period.
Prepaid wallet: unused, never-spent top-ups are refundable within 7 days; funds
already spent on compute are non-refundable (see section 2).
We always refund duplicate charges, clear billing errors, and anything required by law.
No partial refunds for unused time within a period unless required by law or stated above.
5. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first at support@obsidian-metrics.com — we resolve billing
issues quickly. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in suspension while we
investigate.
6. Price changes
We may change subscription prices prospectively. We will notify you before a price change takes
effect at your next renewal, and you may cancel before then if you do not accept the new price.
